Jaipur is just one of those places you can return to again and again – which I did despite having been there less than six months ago.
This time I was hosted by Treebo Hotels as part of their Friends of Treebo program in the gorgeous Khandwa Haveli, a heritage hotel in Jaipur featured by Time magazine in their ‘Five reasons to visit Jaipur’ article. I absolutely loved staying at Khandwa Haveli; the traditional haveli style architecture is stunning, and there are an endless number of rooftops, porches and balconies to relax on with a pot of tea (masala chai with lemon all the way!) and and a view of the city – this one of those hotels which you could stay at all day and not get bored. Plus, I got to know the owner Shailendra who is lovely and made us feel like family; his story of how he started the hotel from just a restaurant was inspiring to hear.
Treebo’s Friends of Treebo program allows anyone to experience amazing luxury accommodation around India free of cost, in return for completing an easy hotel audit (just a bunch of questions where you rate the hotel – takes less than 10minutes), and they have hotels in most of the main cities in India like Bombay (Mumbai), Jaipur, Udaipur, Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mysore, Madras (Chennai), Pune etc.
Here’s how to get involved:
- Head over to http://www.treebohotels.com/fot/ and register for their Friends of Treebo program
- Stay at any of Treebo’s hotels (free of charge) and complete your online hotel audit
- Receive an extra one night’s accommodation as a reward for completing the audit (there are sometimes other freebies like movie tickets involved!) – full details are on the Treebo website
Friends of Treebo is a great way for travelers to save some $$$ and see more of India whilst still staying at nice places.
